The Northen parks and Yellowstone - 7/9/2003

Hello all

Hello all well we are now at Canada staying in Vancouver with a wonderful family we met in one of the campsites in California. But let's tell things in the order of their happening. After Jackson we entered the Grand Teton National Park. It was one of the most beautiful parks we have been to, though we were not so lucky with the weather, as you can probably guess, the monsoon rain struck again (luckily for us we had our umbrellas) ..

After a day we entered Yellowstone national park. We experienced there some rain and below zero temperature at night. Even though we saw all that the park had to offer us. Yellowstone is famous for its geysers (blowing water and steam that comes out from the ground), hot springs and mud pools. Yellowstone is an active volcano and this is the cause for all this natural phenomena The magnitude of the eruption and the colors of the pools were stunning. While being there we climbed the highest mountain there and we gained view to the edges of the volcano. After a day of driving we arrived Glaciers national park. Parts of it were on fire to our surprise. We could actually see the fire from the road, smell the smoke and feel the ashes all over us. Nevertheless, the east side of the park was open to visitors and he spent the night there. We didn't have a chance to see glaciers though we walked around two peaceful lakes.
